This cut me off. I was talking of Khayman, who I simply adore right now. He is such an old vampire that he finds it fun to wander around in vampire clothes and talk to mortals. He bows to them and talks in awe inspiring tongues. He invites them to an almost empty apartment, save a coffin that they sit on and recites scary poems and such. When it is time to drink victims blood, he does it very theatrically, and he loves the understanding look in their eye as he does. He loves that they know exactly what is happening. As opposed to his old way of lifew before Lestat, walking around in rags, attacking a mortal who hasnt noticed him. If they do notice him, he can't drink their blood. He finds that reprehensible, since they've become more real to him.

I love his backstory too. The King and Queen (Enkil and Akasha), who are the mother and father of all vampires, made him rape 2 twins (for an unknown reason, Khayman did it in the place of the King, for the Queen)who are Maharet and Mekare. Maharet is Lena Olin in the movie. So then Maharet is impregnated and she gives birth before made vampire. So Khayman and Maharet are the great-whatever- descendents to Jesse (the main girl in the movie). I find this interesting. There is a HECK of a lot more back story, but this is the shortened version. I love reading these books, they are awesome. I seriously devoured 1/4th of it today at work. I brought other stuff to do, but this kept my attention.

Jesse, who is in the Talamasca(an organization I would love to work for), uncovers a lot of Claudia's things. I love when they bring Claudia back to weave into these other stories. Jesse has red hair and she goes on archealogical digs, so it reminds me of Nora. hehe.
