BSG not for another YEAR!!!!!!! What. The. Frak. It's ending anyhow, why the hell do they not just give it to us?

*sigh* I had thought it would be back in a month, told V such (sorry V) and was wrong.

So, that's ridiculous. Hate when shows do that.

side note: New show a prequel to BSG.

So, with this flood situation, it's screwing everything up. Normally, I would go to a movie on Saturday. Was going to go with V, but the bridges are either closed or I didn't know if they were going to close and I didn't want to get stuck over there.

I should mention, V lives on the East side of the river, I live on the West. All roads to and from are closed or will be. Sucks. Not to mention, there is NOTHING this side of the river. NOTHING. My work is, and I guess I can be glad for that, but nothing else. I have a hospital. Only food place? Hospital cafeteria. ohhhh yeah. THAT'S good eatin'. Everything else relies on one road. Imagine for a second how busy that road is. Insane. Vicky, on the other hand, has a pretty good setup. Stores, movie theaters, malls, one of her work places. I'm not sure how she is going to get to the day care.

Also, my graduation party my parents are throwing is on Saturday. I-80 is closed at mile marker 266. that blocks my route. The detour says it takes you towards Des Moines. Hrm? That is the complete other direction. I have no idea what to do about that.

The president of the University sent out an email saying that if you are an essential employee, you were to keep working. All non-essential are to take a week off, with pay. So, you might think, hey that sounds nice. Well, they will only pay full timers. Not students. So, I was freaking out because I *can't* go another week without pay. CAN'T. Then my boss said it was up to Jeff, the 'Micheal Scott' boss of the office. He said we are essential, since the West side is not really effected, we are on a hill. Whew, that was close. Was going to have to figure something out. But, all the employees who got that email are thinking that they don't have to come in. *head desk*. Thank you Ms. President.

Tommie has spent the day playing Zelda on his Wii. How the hell can one play something like that from 11:30 to 4? Don't you get bored? Hands hurt? Weird.

And to top it off, a book that I put on hold, Twilight -- you may have heard of it, is now ready for me to pick up at the Library. On the EAST side. Damn.

It's like I'm in quarantine or isolation. Like it's racoon city.

So, *headesk* realized I forgot to post about work related flooding. IMU, Iowa Memorial Union decided to evacuate. This has bookstore, eateries, hotel, offices, bank, etc in it. 1 building. Not too large, but right on the water. My Frank Gehry building is probably flooded. :(
So, power went out for awhile on that wast side where the IMU, IMU ramp, Library, other ramps were. Traffic was INSANE. And people didn't show, so we had to drive people over there late yadda yadda yadda.

So was an hour late because of crazy traffic with all my ramp counts. Went to fill van with gas and water was right next to pumps. Wonder where I do that tomorrow?

So about 11 National Guard shows up to help. That was something. All in there camo trucks and stuff. What do I think of when I look at this and all around town? ZOMBIES! AHHHH! It is the perfect set up. The water's contaminated people say. (it really is, just not for Zombie inducing stuff... or so we know.)

I have to create ways to get around places because of either the water or the NG. It's fun. Jimmy the mean cashier was nice to me today. Think he was on crack, he ALWAYS bitches. ALWAYS.

It's getting to the annoying point of the flood. All these streets are flooding and are getting closed. I have to keep creating new routes as I go.

A railway bridge collapsed in Cedar Rapids?. That was weird. The police are going around in boats. (heh) The Marriot that was just built and hyped all over is going to fall over. Is on stilts in the middle of this. Glad we wasted that money. Now where will Obama stay?

They put cylindrical cement cone things over the sewer manholes. Then gravel to keep the water down. Helped with the flooding on Riverside, that went down. Drove on it just now on the way back from Vicky's. In a FLASH FLOOD. Scary. The river is right up to the bridges that I went across. So weird to look at.

What do I cry for? The puppies that have no where else to go when their parents get evacuated! All places are full. :(

So.... it has gotten ridiculous. I am going to try and explain.

Was walking to work(7am) the other day... er ... yesterday,(down the hill, across the street, over the bridge, across the street, am there) and had to detour a tiny bit before the bridge because of the sandbag wall. Literally had to climb over it. So I have a foot of sidewalk wide to walk on for a bit after that, get on the bridge, am fine.

After work (3pm) go to do the above in reverse and find bridge closed. *UBER-SIGH*. Had to get on cambus that was rerouted because of the flooded bridge it goes down on North side of campus and was at home 30 minutes later. He went North, went back South, went back North almost to that bridge and then went back South to drop me off. Was insane.

So this morning I get up and get ready to leave (7AM) and Tommie walks in *eyebrow* and says Riverside(the street I cross to get to bridge, street the cambuses use to drive up North) is flooded by the sewers. So, how the fuck am I to get to work? And home? Well, Tommie was kind enough to drive me then. Flood went down enough for me Cambuses to go through at 3.

Tomorrow? Who knows. May have to drive and pay for parking. Ugh. Hate to do that when I can walk. but, 7AM doing that hike? I am not even sure how long it would take.

So, then the hill that I live on has Riverside on one side, Woolf in the middle that goes to the Hospital area (I only use it to go to and fro from work), and Rocky Shore is on the other side. Both  sides of the hill are flooded. Seriously. Pretty soon I am going to have a HELL of a time driving around.

I should draw a diagram. Getting to the interstate will be fun. Getting to Vicky's was fun too. /sarcasm.

FRAK.

Not that that affects me too much... (except walking to work.. possibly) it just sucks. That's the route I take to get to the highway.

Stupid.

And you know what? I know this is my umpteenth post of the day, but whatever.
